The IBM 2076‑AHC1 option consists of two 31P1862 compression accelerator cards that install in Gen 2 Storwize V7000 controllers. Working together, the pair off‑loads real‑time compression from the system CPUs, delivering:

    Higher effective capacity per drive tray, delaying costly disk expansions
    Lower power and cooling requirements thanks to reduced spindle count
