The HPE AQ298C StoreEver LTO-6 Ultrium 6250 Fibre Channel Half-Height Tape Drive is an enterprise tape drive designed for compatible HPE StoreEver MSL2024 tape libraries. It provides high-capacity removable tape storage for backup, archive, disaster recovery, and long-term data retention environments.
Based on LTO-6 Ultrium technology, the Ultrium 6250 provides up to 2.5TB native capacity per LTO-6 cartridge and up to 6.25TB compressed capacity using the commonly specified 2.5:1 compression ratio. Its half-height form factor provides an efficient drive configuration for supported HPE MSL tape library systems.
The AQ298C uses a Fibre Channel interface, enabling integration with compatible SAN-based backup environments. It is well suited for enterprise backup applications where centralized tape storage, removable media, and long-term offline retention are required.
The HPE AQ298C is a tape drive module and not a complete MSL2024 tape library. Tape cartridges, Fibre Channel cabling, transceivers, library chassis, software, and licenses may not be included. Exact library compatibility, firmware, interface configuration, and installed accessories should be verified before deployment.

The majority of our equipment comes with 6 months warranty, with the exception of tapes and batteries - which comes wth 1 month waranty. If you need a special warranty period, you can ask your contact person for an extended warranty. Please note that the extended warranty can be extended for a maximum of 3 years and in most cases it incurs an extra cost. It must also be purchased at the same time as the original Purchase Order. In the event a faulty part or a part that stops working within its warranty period, email your contact person and request a RMA (email should include Ameta invoice number, product part number & serial number) and we will process your claim.
